URGENT UPDATE: Bargate Housing Planning Application

URGENT UPDATE: Bargate Housing Planning Application

We have officially received formal notification that the planning application for the proposed Bargate Housing development has been lodged with Test Valley Borough Council who will make the final decision.

The consultation period is now OPEN and will run until 23rd January 2026. (Please note: This deadline has been extended to account for the Christmas break).

Parish Council Action:

A Parish Council meeting has been scheduled for Monday, 29th December at 12.15 to:

  • Formally discuss the details of application 25/03028/OUTS
  • Appoint the external planning experts and specialists (funded by your generous donations) to help draft our objection
  • Review our ongoing plans
How and When to Make Your Comments
  • The portal is now open and you are able to submit your comments to TVBC up until 23rd January 2026
  • For an objection to be effective, it must be based on “material planning considerations.” Our experts will identify the most robust technical areas (such as drainage, traffic impact, or local infrastructure) for residents to focus on in their individual letters.
  • The Power of Numbers: A high volume of individual, well-reasoned objections is far more powerful

***Keeping you informed***

Have Your Say: proposed housing development in Braishfield (SURVEY FOR BRAISHFIELD RESIDENTS ONLY)

Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) has revised its Local Plan and will soon launch a public consultation. As part of the revised plan, a site in Braishfield has been allocated (proposed) for the development of 54 new houses.

To gather feedback from the Braishfield community, I am conducting a short survey for Braishfield residents only (a separate survey for Ampfield will follow). The results will be shared with TVBC’s planning policy officers and relevant councillors to ensure your voices are heard.

Please note: This survey is independent of TVBC’s official general public consultation, which will run from 27 June to 5 September. (I am keen to get a consultation started sooner than later!)

The image below shows the proposed development site. This is a significant local issue, and your input is vital. I want to ensure that TVBC fully understands the views of ALL Braishfield residents regarding this proposed site.

The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and is online (paper copies will be made available soon). In line with GDPR regulations: no email addresses are collected. Responses will be held securely for three months after residency verification, then permanently deleted.

Please complete the survey by 19 July if possible.
